•••••••••• What are the functions of the dolls ?
"What's the use of a doll ? Since the begining of mankind, man has always represented himself through dolls.

•••••••••• What can the dolls do ?
"Since the XVIIIth century, man has been fascinated by androïds and has created objects looking like him that can move, talk, give the illusion that it's true. Doll makers created amazing dolls that reproduce man's caracteristics and enrich the game. Dolls always evolve, from yesterdays basic joints to today's sophisticated remote controled electronical items. "

•••••••••• The dolls morphologies :
•• the adult representation
Man represented through dolls all the morphologies, ages and etnies. Since the industrial revolution, dolls mostly represent the child and lady's beauties. Caricatural or masculin characters are less represented. If all the models have existed, each area has had its best types : adult dolls from Second Empire to 1880 and fashion dolls from the end of the 1950's until today.
•• the child representation
The golden age of classical bébés lasted from 1878 to 1910 with nearly 3 generations of idealized child looking dolls. From the turn of the century to the Second World War, character babies with realistic or caricatural faces were produced.
•• the baby's representation
The classical baby or the character baby was popular from 1910 to 1940 and the celluloïd babies' golden age went on during the 1930's to the 1950's. Then plastic babies had their popular period followed by soft body's babies as soon as the 1980's.
