The state of preservation makes the difference !

It is more and more rare to find antique dolls in an almost new condition. Independently from the rarity of the model, the dolls that had a chance to be preserved in a perfect condition in their original boxes have a greater collectible value and a priceless historical interest.

This Bébé Jumeau from the beginning for the XXst century, that we just received at the museum’s shop, is a good exemple of this perfect preservation.

The bisque head was made by Simon & Halbig for the brand new SFBJ. It’s a size 10 marked « DEP » and « Tête Jumeau » in red stamp on the neck. The Jumeau brand is also sticked on the paper label on the body, on the ribbon on the presentation shirt and 3 times on the box (on the inside border, on the exterior of the small side and inside the cover).

At the beginning of the XXst century, the SFBJ still protected the Jumeau brand like it has used to be during more than a decade. They multipied the marks on the doll in order to reduce forgery risks.

This well preserved doll enables us to judge the refinement degree of a quality toy. This doll had sleeping eyes and a talking mechanism that is still working.

If you want to see her ’for real’ or maybe to buy it, just come impasse Berthaud or on our booth in Toymania, on Sunday June 3 in the Palais des Congrès. Looking forward to seeing you there !
